Fertiliser Industry Assurance Scheme (FIAS) covers the areas of fertiliser assurance, security and traceability in the fertiliser industry supply chain. The scheme was launched on 9 January 2005. The areas covered include storage/ports, transport, merchanting, manufacturing and importing. AIC, 2005.
ARCHIVE: Fertiliser Manual (RB209)
The Fertiliser Manual (the 8th Edition of RB209) replaces the old Fertiliser Recommendations 7th edition (2000). It provides recommendations for the use of lime and major nutrients (N, P, K, S, Mg, Na) on most field-grown crops including arable, grassland, field vegetables and fruit. Additionally, it provides details of the content and supply of nutrients from a wide range of organic manures, and provides a wide range of background information on nutrient management. ARCHIVE: Fluid Fertilisers - The 1998 Code of Practice for the Prevention of Water Pollution from the Storage and Handling of Fluid Fertilisers
This document has been archived at the request of the AIC, as it is now considered out of date. Updated guidance is due in 2015. Industry Code of Practice by the Fertiliser Manufacturers Association (FMA) now AIC. It discusses the responsibilities of users and suppliers. Published in 1998. Egg Quality Guide
This book will be of relevance and interest to all those involved in the production and marketing of eggs for human consumption. In Section 1, information is presented on the structure, formation and nutrient content of the egg and on the causes of common quality faults. Section 2 summarises current legislation and provides a guide to quality control methods for those involved in pre-candling and candling inspection of eggs. Definitions of some of the technical terms used are given in Section 3 whilst Section 4 contains a pictorial guide to egg quality. MAFF, 2000.
Eggs: Code of Practice - The Handling and Storage of Eggs from Farm to Retail Sale (PB2818)
This is a voluntary Code of Practice prepared after consultation with the representatives of industry organisations with members involved in handling and storing eggs at all stages of production and distribution. Particular consideration was given to the recommendations made by the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF Report on Salmonella in Eggs, HMSO, 1993).
