The proposed amendments aim to allow certain waste recovery and disposal operations to be undertaken in relation to agricultural waste under an exemptions regime, whilst preventing abuse and ensuring protection of the environment and human health. ARCHIVE: Bees: Consultation on a draft strategy on protecting and improving the health of honey bees in England and Wales
This consultation aims to engage with all those with an interest in the sustainability of honey bees. The draft strategy is the result of a series of informal discussions and consultations with beekeeping associations and other stakeholders. ARCHIVE: Code of Good Agricultural Practice to protect water, soil and air quality. For farmers, growers and land managers (DRAFT August 2007)
This COGAP is currently available for consultation and will replace the three existing Codes of Good Agricultural Practice for the protection of Water, Soil and Air (PB0587, PB0617 & PB0618). The new revised code will be a single consolidated document which focuses on high level, integrated messages on environmental protection based around the main operations that farmers might undertake. The Code has been prepared following informal discussions and consultations with a range of stakeholders, including workshops with farmers. The deadline for responses is 13 November 2007. ARCHIVE: Consultation on general licences under wildlife legislation in England
The purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of consultees and others on a series of proposals relating to the ‘General’ licences issued by Natural England under wildlife legislation. We will take account of all responses received when deciding what changes, if any, will subsequently be implemented. The consultation period will last 12 weeks, closing on Friday, 13 March 2009. ARCHIVE: Cross Compliance Handbook for England. Supplement for 2007 (PB12276)
This supplement detailed the three new Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs) on animal health and welfare and updates the Cross Compliance Handbook for England 2006 edition and 2006 supplement. It incorporates SMR 16, 17 and 18 which are essentially a restatement of existing legislative requirements that farmers should already be adhering to and thus will place no additional burden on the industry. The supplement also includes a number of changes that were being made to the standards during 2007, due to amendments to domestic legislation. ARCHIVE: Cross Compliance Notes For Guidance SCOTLAND 2006
These notes for guidance replace the Scottish Single Farm Payment Scheme Information Leaflet 7 (Cross Compliance) which was published in October 2004. Included are details of the Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition standards, the Statutory Management Requirements introduced in 2005 and the additional seven Statutory Management Requirements which will come into force on 1 January 2006.
